Bali to Lombok flights with surfboards

Gidday crew. It's been several years since I braved Muppet Airlines with a flight from Bali to Lombok so I'm wondering if anyone can give me the latest news on flights?
I understand the new International Airport at Praya is finally open; is that right?
My son and I want to take several surfboards each on a surfing trip to Kuta, Lombok and I'm wondering which is the best airline for the job?
