Spent a few weeks in Chiang Mai in November & the item that I could not have done without is the Nancy Chandler map. Something in the same vein would be a big earner for anyone in Bali with the time & resources to do it. The NC map shows everything from small "window" maps of popular sites to ditto maps of markets to popular out of town trips. Restaurants, hotels, places of interest marked accompanied by a small booklet giving more details & map references. Quirky, informative comments.
Of course, in Bali places change all the time - they open & close & go downhill - just as in CM. Updates for the NC maps are available online. Hey, if I could do it, I would, not only because it'd be a nice earner but mainly because it'd be incredibly useful, even for frequent Bali travellers, just as the NC map is for frequent CM travellers.
But, to answer your question, no there is not a basic map of all the good places to eat etc. Just have to read & take notes.
