Just to clear the air about the Melasti beach resort Spa. I heard directly from the original spa operator that the hotel ownership evicted them as the hotel wanted to take over the highly successful operation all for themselves. The hotel gave them only four hours notice to clear out and confiscated all their furnishings and equipment. The lady that operated the Melasti Resort spa for over 10 years also owns the two Spa Bali spas in Seminyak and Kuta. I was told that all of the former staff from the Melasti Resort moved to the other two spas so nobody lost their jobs. When I asked them why they didn't take any legal action against the hotel I was told that the owner of the hotel is "too powerful".
