the media doesn't generally report on people dying unless they are from your own country, so our locals and expats rarely get into the news. We lost 2 guys in our village in 1 night. I live here and we no longer drink any cocktails, welcome drinks or anything that may contain any spirits. That includes at friends homes. I know a lot of homemade vodka going around, a lot of expats buy it, it's made in home bathtubs and I bet you haven't heard of the expats that have died from it. I would suggest unless you opened the sealed bottle yourself DO NOT touch it, you will have to revert to wine (was a post below about something drinkable and beer while out). I can tell you that Media only gives you an eighth of what really goes on in Bali, its bad for business otherwise.
