The article in the Jakarta Globe states that certain tourist areas, and people of certain origins may be exempt from the ban. This would absolutely have to be the case, but tbh I cannot see this ever coming into play.
It's one party's plan. One party who is not in power. Even 'dry countries' such as United Arab Emirates allow drinking in tourist hotels etc.
I would think the more concerning thing from this article, is that this request is going before parliament, instead of a bill on anti corruption. Sounds corrupt to me lol.
This will never get passed so its nothing to worry about, but if it did it would ruin Bali as a tourist destination for the majority. It would just give the wrong impression, and after all Bali is a Hindu state, not Muslim - therefore there is no need for this rule to exist I bali.
