I'm sure this has been done before but here goes. Wine in Bali is very expensive, expect to pay $25 to $30 for a bottle of Jacobs Creek at the shop/supermarket. The local stuff is a bit cheaper, but pretty rank (it is OK with a lot of soda water and ice).

Your best bet for an acceptable drink is to bring in some premium 2L casks. Don't try to sneak them in, they pick them up on Xray and drag you off for interrogation and it's hard to negotiate a modest bribe. Far better to declare it, get in the "red" line at customs and discuss the "import duty". We took in four 2L casks and got away with $20 "duty".

If you're out in the open, in the red line the customs chappie looses his advantage, will cop almost anything you offer him and just shuffles the cash into the pile of immigration forms.
