Just magnificent. Would hold its own anywhere. It's every bit as good as it was in 2004, I'm buggered if I know why we didn't get to it on the two intervening trips.
Started with some veggie spring rolls that were crisp, hot and tasty. Progressed to a Prawn and Avocado Salad, this was so fresh that the prawns were still warm from cooking. There were about 30 small prawns, half a sliced ripe avaocado and seafood suace on the side.
We then progressed to mains. Jenny felt like a chicken burger so ordered a schnitzel from the menu and asked for a roll and some avocado to make it herself the way she likes it. I ordered a Fillet Steak (as I had in 2004) cooked rare. It came out perfectly cooked, supremely tender and with a simple yet superbly dressed salad and some freshly made chunky wedges.
Lunch took nearly two hours (food is an event for us). I knocked over five San Migs and Jenny had four glasses of wine. The wine was the local Hattens which is pretty ordinary but goes down OK when mixed with Soda Water and Ice, quite refreshing in the heat.
And it would be remiss if me not to mention the toilets, they were spotless and the washroom area was decorated with bowls of flowers and neatly rolled towells to dry your hands.
Here's the clincher, $58 total bill. They were tipped accordingly as the service was A1. Avoid this place at your peril.
