SIM CARD

Hi to all

Any help with the following would be greatly appreciated

I am travelling to Bali and I currently use Samsung Galaxy S GT- i9000 with vodafone Aust.

I need to be able to make/ receive calls back to Aust relatively cheaply.

Can I do this and still retain my current telephhone number as that is important
