Scamming is always on unless you are well informed.
Another thing to watch is money changers who count out lots of smaller notes, slip in 10,000rp for 100,000rp notes.
Best to use authorised money changers, you usually get your money in 100,000rp notes you can then pass a couple back & get them changed into smaller notes. Apparently they are looking at issuing new currency that has dropped all the zeros. That should make it easier, maybe.
