Try Warung 96, just down Poppies 2. The pizza is some of the best I have ever tasted - your kids will love it.
Also venture further north and try Seaside on the beach at Jalan Double 6, Legian. They have an extensive menu, including some Mexican. Last time we went they had a band playing on the rooftop. My kids loved hearing them do covers of Lady Gaga and LMFAO.
You will find quite a few restaurants along this strip. It has a great atmosphere at night.
I would definately head out to Seminyak. The quality of the bars and restaurants is amazing. Sunset drinks at Potato Head would be a great start. If you want to go to one of the upmarket restaurants such as Sarong, Mamasan etc, you will have to book. Otherwise head down Jalan Laskmana (eat street) and see what takes your fancy. Don't worry about the cost of the taxi fare, it would be less than $5 each way.
