Make sure that you get your divers medical done before you go to Bali. Can't comment on Gili T, as we always dive at Tulamben. Tulamben Wreck Divers is owned by an Aussie, Tony, met him once, he was a really nice person. Although I can't comment on the training facilities at TWD, it is very popular with aussie divers. They are not on the beachfront at Tulamben however, so there is a walk down to the water from their shop.
Have you thought about getting your dive certification at home, it would allow you to enjoy diving with your boyfriend, rather than you having training and studying while he's off enjoying his dives.
