Go to the beach for sunset then elsewhere for dinner. Your kids might enjoy joining a footy game on the beach with Balinese. Heaps of cheap places around Hard Rock if you don't mind a bit of a walk (that's where you are staying, I guess?)
Plenty in Benesari between Poppies 1 & 2 - that area is where surfers tend to hang out & they like good, cheap food. The further you get away from the beach, the cheaper, usually. In Poppies 1 Agungs isn't bad (do a great club s'wich). Treetops at the beach end is good - both cheap. Can't go past Un's in a gang at the Jl Legian end of Poppies 1 for a great meal for a treat excellent value. Bamboo Corner near TJs in Poppies 1 is very cheap & quite good. La Walon has a decent, cheap restaurant.
The Kuta Night Markets have fresh seafood for a fraction of the price at the rip-off joints at Jimbaran.
