when my stepson was trying to add his two kids to the booking he had from Perth earlier this year it wouldn't let him.
when he finally got thru to the AA phone number they told him he would have to rebook the whole family again as the system would not let children under 16 travel unaccompanied.
he had promo prices and didn't want to lose them so the kids aren't coming, (staying with grandparent).
the fact that the parents were on the same flight didn't matter, there was only one way round it and they didn't want to book again and lose the promo prices they had.
AA is a budget airline and not set up for unaccompmied children even if they wouldn't really be alone !
