Damage

I have fallen off hired motorcycles several times in Bali, usually when I hit mudslides.

I then take the motorcycle to a local bengkel (workshop) for repairs. Repairs are ridiculously cheap. Before returning the motorcycle, I fill the tank and get it washed at one of those places as you come into Kuta. The cost of the wash is about Rp 30,000.

Not repairing the bike, leads to imaginative claims of damage.
