Why does 2 weeks never seem enough? 2nd trip this year so I guess I should be thankful to get the extra 2 weeks. Flew Garuda, great as usaul, Visa at sydney airport immigration on board, carryon luggage, straight off plane through xray and out into friends car within 15 minutes woohoo. 9 of us went getting 2 villas next door to each other, first time for villas for 4 of our friends, 2 of which loved it, the other 2 not so sure, but never the less enjoyed the experience. We stay at private villas down a gang in Seminyak, so close to everything but so so quite you would never know you were just a short walk into the hustle and bustle of everything. I love the villa we stay at,you can do your own thing, and the thgought of staying in a hotel now just doesn't inspire me, but thats just my opinion.
Could not get over the amount of development going on and new hotels, since May when I was last there. If there is a bit of space, a hotel is being squeezed into it. The traffic is even more appalling going into Kuta, Denpasar, Nusa Dua due to the building of the By-pass make sure you allow extra time to get anywhere if you have appointments etc.
A wee bit of a different holiday this time as some of my friends were spending most of the holiday having dental work done. 2 of them went to 911 at Galleria, to have veneers, crowns, fillings and teeth whitening done. The other had to go to 911 at Denpasar . She first saw Dr Rudy and was not that impressed with him, but when she decided what she would and would not have done, she was palmed off to a female dentist who she said was absolutely lovely and ended up being very pleased with her new mouth full of teeth. My other friend who had a lot of work done at Galleria, has been in a lot of pain and is not sure about quality of the work and is now a bit worried.
4 of the group also visited ARC clinic for microdermobrasion therapy, they all raved about the place, and can't wait to go back on their next visit.
Places we ate.
Italian at KP love this place no tax, right on the beach at Legian great pizzas good entertaimnment at night. Now they have in between the bands break an opera singer, which adds to the atmosphere perfectly.
Mades Warung
Pantarei greek at Seminyak absolutely love thisplace and as it was close to where we stay had quite a few luches and dinners here.
Jimbaran - good for the sunset and atmosphere and taking newbies but really a rip off.
The new MozzarellA in Melasti street above a new hotel, food to die for no tax and 2 for 1 cocktails, beautiful servicewe were all very impressed with this palce and went back several times.
Oceans 27 at the back of Discovery sitting in the pool on a hot day expensive food and drink and 21% tax but nice for a one off.
Sengara seafood and Sengara Asian also both at the back of Discovery great food great atmosphere in both.
Cafe Moka at Seminyak another regular place great coffee and cakes and baguettes to die for.
Shopping, no bullsh**t jennys as usual prefer her over Diannes as Jenny has a wider variety of stock, Discovery, Matahari, Galleria, Carrefour,Bintang supermarket, Geneva (which I found on here, wow what a place) Shopping centres at Denpasar and TV series shopping at DVD shops.Plus the usual market shopping.
Walking walking walking looking at shops in seminyak, Jalan Legian Double 6.
Only took carry on on the way over and needed a new suitcase so purchased a snazzy 4 wheeler at Carrefour, which was chock a block on the way home. Took 1 hour in the horrendous traffic to get to the airport. Another great Garuda flight and here I am back in the real world and back to work tomorrow :-(
