'THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS'

The truth is I loathe traveling! I hate justifying the expense, leaving my fur kids behind knowing how they WILL stress out and fret. I hate risking my precious life on that bizarre UFO while being crammed into a tiny bolt upright space for hours upon hours. The mind numbing queues and intense busyness in air ports drive me bananas. Ugh!

But... OH how I love Bali!! Sigh:)

There's something very special about it that pulls on my heart strings like a silly fool. The stunning energising green jungle and paddies lined with coconut trees as well as the incredible fresh aqua blue water that glistens in the sun stirs up by Bali fever so badly. I miss the people who sing out and wish you well several times a day. The pretty lanterns and flickering candle light with the sweet smell of frangipani that wafts in the air over the gorgeous infinity pools and magnificent stone architecture is soo romantic which all combined gives me such a natural high. The warm air surrounds me like a constant comforting hug.

The mere thought of it takes me by surprise and makes me burst out in song. Mind you I am not sure where this comes from. It is quite uncharacteristic of me to sing out to Julie Andrews from the Sound of Music with a spring in my step but I find that I can't help myself from belting out the classics when I embark on such a thrilling impending trip to paradise. It really is quite odd behaviour for me, I blame it on the Bali fever :) Bali tragics would be quite familiar with the fact that, 'when the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my FAVOURITE THINGS {about Bali} and then I don't feeeel sooo bad' :P

But then reality hits as I am a big girl now with financial and daily responsibilities. I can't go running off to Nirvana, er um I mean Bali whenever I feel like it. Hubby and I sensibly agree that we should go away every second year. However, what we didn't count on was all of the dark and chilly wintery days mixed in with a coupla hectic n heavy life issues that make you do out of body crazy things and book Virgin tickets on a whim which all seems to occur in a flash. What harm can a sneaky little 5 day trip do? ...Hmm...

Before I knew it we had jumped off the spoiled little kid cliff and found ourselves frolicking in the most wonderful sparkling water with a sunrise cocktail adorned with flowers in one hand and a frangipani behind each ear. As if I could resist a cheeky visit Bali for a whole another long and tedious year! Beware of the contagious Bali bug. The treatment may suppress the symptoms costs thousands and there is NO cure!

I am well aware that in my next life I could be the poorly mother of ten kids living in the harshest and most violent conditions. I give thanks for the current life I have been given this time around and by jingoes I'm gonna make the most out of my blessings and the oyster that has just opened up for me. Now the time has finally come, albeit a bit sooner than I had expected to return to our playground of paradise - our Nirvana. May my JBR take you back to your happy place to get your Bali fix or inspire you to create your own insanely wonderful reality.

Enjoy, please!

I remember how ten months ago on the last night of our magnificent full pelt Bali adventure I stood on the magical grounds of the PAN PACFIC NIRWANA after seeing the most spectacular and magical sunset looking out towards that AWEsome misty unreal view of Tanah Lot and having a full on tanty on the inside. I felt like stamping my feet stubbornly like a little kid not wanting to leave a great party knowing that my exquisite real life fantasy was about to end and reality was about to hit hard as I was about to return to my regular mundane life. Then and there I vowed to come back to the Pan Pacific Nirwana and after a surreal blur of the last ten months here we were and we are incredibly fortunate enough that our adventure takes flight once more, feeling like giddy spoilt little kids again who got their way. This place is an adult's playground.

What is there not to love about THE PAN PACIFIC NIRWANA HOTEL? OK so the 55min ride from the airport was a great impatient tease but once we were here it was like entering into the most serene, spacious, clean cut and beautiful holiday palace with cliff top views of the ocean :). This place certainly has wow factor. The Ayana is our usual awe-some 'Welcome to Bali' port of call. However the Pan Pacific definitely gives the Ayana a run for its money considering that it is so close to the magical Tanah Lot temple and markets and it is more affordable.

The lobby of the Pan Pacific Nirwana is stunning with its views to Tanah Lot and the most magnificent sunsets. The pools are outstanding with tall palm trees that stand guard by the pool area with its romantic bales. I would go so far as to say that they have the best pools in Bali. I have dipped my toes in quite a few pools in Bali in my time. The Pan Pacific pools are shallow and therefore are a great temperature with an angelic and charming bar man who offered us yummy cocktails while we were in the pool. Major brownie points were earned here. Ah bliss :)

We made ourselves dizzy by whizzing by the four different resort restaurants in the steamy heat trying to figure out which menu enticed us the most. Check out the upstairs sunset bar. Finally we chose the Grill Restaurant. We decided on the chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it really was for someone who wasn't even hungry after gorging on air port junk food all day. Bring your mozzie spray just in case.

We had the most divine time at the Pan Pacific exploring the grounds and pools and hanging out amongst the well cared for gardens. My how I already miss those feather pillows and cozy doona.

The Pan Pacific Nirwana really showcases the best of what Bali has to offer. It was an ideal way to start our new Bali adventure. You could easily and comfortably spend a few days or even weeks there and get quite used to the relaxing and royal treatment :) This is true class.

I could go on and on about my favourite things at The Pan Pacific Nirwana at Tanah Lot but as they say a picture tells a thousand words so check out this link to our photos :)

After having my head in the clouds reality was about to bring me to my knees.... to be continued...

Semoga harimu menyenangkan :D!!
