but the other morning we went through security at a hotel in Ubud and they took ages examining the umbrellas in the back of the car, and then said we could move on. Hubby said, so no bombs? They laughed and said "no", I had a bag on my lap which I was shoving my laptop into and later we thought how silly it is as that would more likely be a bomb, not an umbrella..
The next hotel was just as usual at early hours, I opened the gate myself and woke the security guard up with a fright. He must not have got the memo that hotels are on high alert.
