it, if you use padlocks and something is missing or put in your bag, you are more likely to be able to see if there is a tampering, as they would have to cut your bag (unless they have bolt cutters).
If you use cable ties, or plastic wrap and someone does something and cuts off the wrap or had cut the ties and they are gone, how on earth do you even prove they were there to Balinese authorities?
I did find someone had drilled a hole in my padlock while in India, they must have been disturbed while doing it and didn't get into the bag as when I went to open it, it nearly flew across the room. I have kept it as a souvenir of my trip, with it's perfectly drilled hole right at the spot that would pop open the lock.
