silly.
How will a clean toilet guarantee that the rice hasn't been kept a day too long? (Rice kept just that little bit too long is one of the commonest way to get food poisoning)
You will not find a great deal of 'western standard clean' toilets anywhere.
I have been in Macdonalds, and watched a very earnest young man clean the urine off the toilet seat, then proceed to clean the taps and the mirrors without even rinsing it out!! Now that's a streak free finish!!
The single best advice you can be given regarding hygiene in the developing world is this "wash your hands A LOT". You will be amazed by the amount of people who will be shaking your hands.
Be very aware of how often you may be putting your hands in your mouth, or near your mouth... (counting money etc)
The hand sanitizers are a great idea, but you can get them far cheaper in bali.
IF youre kids happen to get sick, call in a doctor. What seems like a mild illness, can progress rapidly.
That's my two cents worth.
