We have always flown with our 2 children (now 14 and 17), domestic and international and we have never had a problem with them. Even when my son had a severe ear infection (that we didn't know about) that caused him incredible pain he suffered in silence (well cried in my lap but nobody else was disturbed, thankfully it was a domestic flight).
Parents need to take things to occupy their kids and take responsibility for their child's actions.
It really annoys me that parents don't care less about the people around them, especially in such a small space as a plane.
Let the parents sit in front of children who love to kick seats :), see how they feel then.
