my son has Aspergers Adhd and a few other disabilities and has been travelling overseas since he was 3 he is now 12. And I can say in all that time he has been fantastic. I always take things to keep him amused ie: gameconsoles books, cards etc. And he is always good. He stays in his seat except to go to the toilet, he is polite and well mannered to the aircrew, he never kicks the seats or makes a nuisance of himself and yet we see so called "normal" kids just running amok.
My son can have huge meltdowns and behaviour issues but when we are out he contains himself and yes sometimes we pay for it when we get home but I would so much rather he meltdown at home than on a plane.
I think some parents don't really care what their kids do as long as they leave them alone.
