we stayed on the island for 3 weeks in may so we really had a good look around. we went over on the scoot boat & came back on the rocky boat, like the rocky better sit at the back. heaps of guys over there will take you around the island in their boats & snorkling as well. a mantaray came right up to our boat at the point. the water is so clear. when you go over to the small island make sure you go & watch the aussie jumping of the cliff then head to secret point to watch the surfing. the locals make their money from seaweed farming so make sure you are down on the beach at low tide to watch them going out on the boats to collect the seaweed, then they carry it up the beach. l couldn;t even lift one of the baskets. sit on the wall at the front of pondok baruna & watch the boats being unload, there isn't any jettys on the island so the locals wade into the water to unload the boats, quite funny to watch when there is a rough sea on, the women are all laughing as they unload. even saw them unload a truck one day got some great photos. behind pondok you can hire push bikes. go clock wise around the island so as you don't have to go up the big hill the view from the top of the hill is priceless. heaps of little supermarkets where you can buy bintang, look out for the sign that says massage & baby sister. my husband had the best massage at this little shop the lady is so nice. we are heading back there in oct again. the sun sets are wonderful you will take tons of photos. have a great time you won't want to leave.
