I have stayed in Sanur a lot and I think you will love it. It's not as busy as Kuta/legion but it's a far cry from the sleepy little village that some people call it.
Hardys halfway along the main road is a must when you first get there to buy supplies, but also a lot of your shopping can be done there, also alcohol etc. I haven't stayed down as far as the SBH as we usually stay up the Northern end but there are lots of great restaurants both along the beach and along the main road. We often eat on the main road because I love watching all the people and seeing interesting things. If you catch a bluebird taxi up to Sindhu beach markets, you can go through the markets, tootsies restaurant and bar on the beach is great, and also her fixed price shop if you have things to get, also the shop opposite hers is great. I could name lots of restaurants up the northern end, but I do know there are many great ones down the southern end. I love Sanur and always stay there now so I do hope you enjoy it.
Look forward to your report.
