Check with Telstra. Some phones say they are locked, but are not. Ive had a telstra phone where I was able to use other sims in it. Some phones also come with whats called a soft lock that requires maybe a call to the provider, or maybe nothing at all to use another sim. The easiest way is borrow a friends sim, from say vodafone or optus, and try it in your phone before you go. If it works, youve got an unlocked phone and all you need is to buy a local sim in Bali
