What a lovely dilemma!
We went to Lord Howe Island for my husbands 50th and it was magic! It's not a party place at all but we loved the beauty and peacefulness of the island.
For my 50th it was a no brainer.......Bali for me! Due to the timing of my big day it was again just the two of us. As someone else said there is just something about Bali that draws us back again and again. The whole family went over for my sisters 50th a couple of years ago.
We have been to many other countries in Asia and we love Vietnam but it would be hard to choose just one or two places to stay there and it's a completely different experience.
Maybe if you enjoy the Gilis you could spend some time there as well as Bali.
