If you're keen snorkellers Menjangan Island is a must. It is off the north west coast. A long way but still do-able in a long day from southern Bali. Alternatively, you could stay overnight at Lovina. We stay at Sunari Hotel. We've seen colorful fish, including Clown Fish and extraordinary coral, clams, turtles etc. Another favorite is Manta Point on Cennigan Island. You'd probably have to stay overnight on Lembongan Island, but well worth it to swim with mantas. They are there in July, which is when we go. Check with World Diving Lembongan to see if mantas will be there when you are there. I can recommend this company. We have used them several times.
