the tourist market is still there, and will remain there. I was told last night that there is a new traditional market area currently being built south of the the Monkey Forest and somewhere off the main road at Nyuh Kuning Village. Once it's finished, the current Ubud market will just be for tourist stuff and the locals will have the new one for the traditional stuff - food, meat, local clothes etc.
