Husband and I travelled to Bali for our 12th Visit, this trip is for 25 days and we are travelling around the Island. We have hired a car and will be driving ourselves we have done this a couple of times now.
We arrived in Bali on 3rd June. Got trhrough immigration in Bali the quickest ever. Husband usually lines up while I go and pay for the VOA but this time there was no line. We were through before our baggage made it off the plane.
Once out of airport we bought taxi voucher. We found the walk was not further than usual.
The first night we spent at the Flamboyan Hotel in Tuban. This is a cheap place we found a couple of years ago and serves us for a 1 or 2 night stay before we head elsewhere. We got a sim card for our phone and stocked up on supplies while here.
The next morning our car was delivered, we made a stop at carefore and were then on our way to our first stop which was Mara River Lodge at the Safari park. We stayed 2 nights. This place was great we had a Tandala room, from our balcony you could see rhino and zebra. You also saw the elephants that people were on for there rides.
While at the park we saw the educational show, elephant show, Bali Agung Show, had a photo taken among all of the other things that you can do there. As you are there early you can walk through the park before the visitors arrive for the day. This morning we saw the bearcat and the orangutans having a bath. We also went on the night safari andgot to feed the zebra throught the window of the jeep. Breakfast and dinner were served at the Lion resturant where the lions were just the other side of the window.
Today, Wednesday we have moved on to Amed. We are staying at Life in Amed. We are the only guests hear and are in one of the Villas on the beach. It is so nice sitting here typing this with the ocean just a few steps away.
For any one interested in the road conditions. Most of the road works appear to have been completed up to the Safari Park. Travelling to Candi Dasa there were a couple of places where roadworks were being carried out. After Amalpura they were doing some resurfacing working going through the winding mountain roads. Not to bad though.
