I would suggest make a booking before you leave, if you can, and particularly if you are time poor i.e. only one week in Bali. If you need crowns or similar you need to allow at least 4-5 days in between. For standard dental work (fillings, whitening, etc) you would be fine to walk in off the street, if they're not too busy that day.
My previous two Bali dental visits were both a walk in off the street to actually make an appointment, but taken in straight away both times. However, I need several crowns for my next visit and have made an appointment for the day after I arrive.
