OK OK its 4.30am, there is a 2 hour time difference, c'mon on :)

Tassie family of four, kids aged 9 & 11.

Flew in on a nearly full Virgin flight from Melbourne. Love arriving during the day. First ever quick trip through immigration, 20 minutes & that was the slow line. Mr Immigration Man actually smiled and joked a little, he seemed to be enjoying his job.

Took a deep breath of Bali air and watched with glee the newbies being coherced by the porters.

Transfer to Sanur took ages. Wayan driver said the obvious, "traffic very bad mister". Took way over an hour to get to our digs.

Checked into our villa for the first three nights (Bali Sanur Beach Villa), all very nice but the pool needs a chemical treatment to clear the cloudiness. Still swam though, no problems. The villa has use of the Villa Shanti Resort, so had a swim in that pool as well. The pool area at the Villa Shanti has a very nice feel.

Off down the road to get some coin changed just North of Hardys. Wondered what the staff think when we change enough to buy a motorbike? Left feeling like a gozzilionaire thinking, if this was Australia I might get rolled, haha.

Stocked up on the obligitory binnies, chips (chups for those Kiwis), and duty free mixers at Hardys and grabbed a local SIM.

Dined at Pragina Warung on formites recommendations.

Entree was spring rolls (lumpia) & a superb calamari.

Mains:
Wow! my Nasi Goreng Special was fantastic.

Quick question?? I like a sunny side egg on top of my Nasi Goreng, this used to be all the rage a few moons ago. Now it is rare. I like to crack the yolk and let it drift into the rice. How do I ask for a sunny side egg in the local lingo?

Wife had a chicken curry. The kids had satays. My son gave them an 11/10, he would know because he is an expert on everything at the moment, just ask him... :)

Left feeling as full as a fat ladies sock. Back to our villa, sat outside sipping a binnie, watching the stars twinkle in the balmy Bali night. Deep sigh, aggghhhhhhhhhhh yep, I'm on holidays, this is what it's all about!!
