Arrived with hubby June 12th from Melb. First week was spent at *a hotel I apparently can't mention* with 15 other family members aged from 2 years to 77 years! First time we have stayed *here* and really enjoyed it, the 2 bedroom apt were perfect for family groups. We spent a great day at waterbom park, as it is Indonesian school holidays, hubby and I lined up early to ensure we got a gazebo for the day. The little kids ( and a few of the big kids ) loved all the rides, miss 5 went on the bunji trampoline 3 times and even Nan and Pop went on the lazy river ride! As it was Nan and Pop's first visit to Bali, we also spent a day in Ubud ( monkey forest and Babi Guling ) the monkeys were a big hit as was Bubba Gumps and Un's restaurant. Many lazy days were also enjoyed on the beach at Eddies Bar. Exchange rate has been around 9500 and the weather beautiful, not too humid and the nights even a little cool.
Second week we moved to Secret Garden Inn as most of the group went home leaving only 5 of us! Have stayed here many times and love the place however our last night was marred by some very rude and noisy guests that arrived earlier that day and partied well into the night, despite the polite request by myself and at least two other guests, for them to quieten down. They finally stopped around 3-30am. The next day the manager told us 2 other rooms had checked out because of them! I'm glad we were leaving anyway as it was very uncomfortable that last day.
Many, many massages, bintangs and corn on the cob later and now only the 2 of us left.
Moved to Royal Bali Beach Resort in Jimbaran last Sat, much quieter here, have had breakfast at Grocer & Grind the last 2 mornings, delish! Very long walk along the
beach after brekkie ( nearly 2 hours ) a dip in the pool when we got back, then reading and relaxing by the pool. Dinner on the beach tonight, BBQ king prawns and calamari,
a massage and an ice cream on the way home...heaven!
Only 5 days left before returning to cold old Victoria so I intend to make the most of them!
