They work much the same as here - 4 digit pin, select the account type and how much. You get to choose if you want to do the transaction in english or indonesian, so there's no language issue there. Be aware that the card is the last thing to come out though, so don't walk away without double checking that you have your cash, card and receipt.

You'll need to call Bendigo bank and check with them if your particular card will work in an overseas ATM. It's also a good idea to notify them that you may be using it between certain dates, as some financial institutions will put a freeze on an account accessed in Indonesia, suspecting it may be fraudulent, if you haven't told them about it ahead of time.

As "The Rooster" suggested below, also check with them what the fees per withdrawal are for your account. It can be $5 a go or even more. All banks have different fees. My credit union doesn't charge any at all, so that's good for me. My parents were charged $4 per withdrawal by NAB a few years ago, which added up over a one month holiday!

I have no hints on cash though, as I haven't used a money changer in years.
