A walk down memory lane in Candidasa for us. Stayed at Pondok Bambu a small hotel slap in the middle Rp. 500,000 per night. Newly renovated rooms and wow bathrooms, nice little restaurant overlooking the beach and pretty small pool. All good.
A little concerned that Candidasa is not sticking to the standards that have become traditional in the south and that something should definitely be done about it. For example we only had good food and found nothing to whinge about at all. Now that's not traditional is it? I ask you?
Now this may shock some of you and we may have to get together an action group to address the situation. I don't think we can do much about the lack of building sites. It's a shame, but there it is. Maybe if we wait a while.
The distressing thing is the complete lack of litter especially plastic. I know shocking isn't it? Then there is the lagoon complete with lily pads. It's clean. The ocean where it meets the shore at the back steps of my hotel is sparkly clear. Not a condom nor bungkus wrapper to be seen. Sadly they had cloth napkins on the table so had no litter to chuck over the side. I did try and talk the Ktua Kowboy into peeing over the edge but he was most un-coperative.
We are leaving for Lovina in disgust later this morning and will be taking the contents of the bin from outside our room with us to chuck out of the car window as we go ending triumphantly with the bin liner.
