The Simpatti card costs only 5,000rp. You get a little credit but if you top up with 100,000 as suggested (cost now about $12 AUD) it will last about a week or more depending on use. I used mine for a lot of internet surfing so can't compare with phone use. 100,000 lasted me 12 days.
Some sellers charge 50,000 and 100,000 for the card plus top up which is a rip off and puts the extra in their poskets.

My simpati I got from a little stall inside the hardware top floor of the Discovery shopping Centre. Authorised seller so all at the right price.
You can buy the top up cards anywhere. I usually get one and put in my wallet. If getting low on credit a local at your favourite bar/shop/restaraunt will scratch and top up for you.
