Hi everyone,
I watched all the forums and collected information for a year before this trip and thanks to all that post on here - your info was great and so much help!
We stayed at the Bali Rani with 2 children (3 yo and 1 yo) and were pretty happy with the hotel. Breakfast was good and lots of variety. The pools were lovely and the staff were nice. They have elevators which was a huge help with little ones in tow and so much luggage.
Shopping - we went to carrefour and stocked up on food for baby and supplies and found that most stuff was the same. Big tip - mammy poko nappies were great and soooo cheap. Also available were formula, food, wipes .... pretty nuch anything you will need while you are there. They are also available in Kuta as well but it was fun to do the trip.
Geneva Handicraft - this was a tip I got off this forum and a great one! Got most of our gifts and nick nacks here and avoided buying each day. Floors and Floors of stuff to take home! The service was great and the prices really cheap. Bought bowls, placemats, statues, etc etc .... and more!
Ate at most of the regular places and was surprisingly easy with the kids even though I had stressed about this before we left. There are plenty of choices and the baby was happy to pick at different foods. Was careful with water etc but sandwiches etc were not a problem.
Babysitting - Got a recommendation off the forum and used Balis Best Babysitting. Absolutely fantastic! Couldn't have made a better choice. We had two different nannies / babysitters and they were brilliant. Took them everywhere with us including waterbom and they could both swim!! We had such a nice relaxing holiday because of it and it was nice to go out for dinner at night together. It was very cheap and their service is amazing. The kids loved the ladies and I could not have been more relaxed. It's co-run by a western lady and she knows what she is doing which is a big relief. You can search for them on the net or facebook.
Will add more later - happy to answer questions.
