The test for whooping cough depends mainly on a nasal swab. Most gps tend not to use a blood test, but they also tend to diagnose 'most' terrible coughs with no other obvious cause as whooping cough.
This is the advice I can give you. There are specific antibiotics for whooping cough, go to a doctor here, or google them and go to an apotek with their names on a bit of paper, and get them.
They do help a little, but more importantly, after a week you will no longer be contagious.
ON the bad side, I am fit and well, and it took me at least as long as 6 months to recover. I still have breathing issues now.
