I thank you all for your contributions. Have been to all of the establishments mentioned with exception of Garis Garis and Station Restaurant. Will have to tick them off. Was really seeking out the hidden gems slightly off the well trodden (very high and broken) footpaths.
Have been to one or two slightly questionable ones and developed the rear geyser syndrome, but what doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger. My wife does not subscribe to this theory and is not ammused by the rotarua impersonations for a day or three.
