Sorry about coming across as a bit flat.
It hasn't all been beer and skittles getting my lower lumbar into shape following my Lembongan Cliff Jump bonanza. A very tame last few days were had on Lembongan Island with a gentle snorkel floating with the current leaving me with an ice pack on for a few hours.
Today we zipped back on the Scoot Boat to Sanur on a very light sea. A few jolts and emails from formites prompted me to zip down to the BIMC after check-in to our last stay.
Speaking of our last stay. We have crunched a deal with the Mahagiri Villas in Sanur. Nothing like their web price or even their wotif price. That would be totally out of our range. This place certainly has the wow factor by the spade full. The villa pool is huge and the villa compound it impeccable. The design and lighting effects are really well thought out. A very BIG thumbs up.
Anyway the BIMC is a medical facility designed to appease even the most demanding of any western traveller. The clinic is modern, clean with English speaking staff. I was immediately seen too, consulted a nurse, doctor, x-rayed and given post x-ray advice plus happy pills then out the door in 1 hour flat. Total cost AUS$210. Even if you were without travel insurance you just don't get this level of service and value back home with our health system. Wash up is my lower lumbar does not appear fractured or discs bulged and I simply have a bit of severe muscle damage causing me the discomfort. Cannot lift anything heavy and need to take the drugs that killed River Phoenix for a while to ease the twinges and twangs. Hopefully it's just a time will heal thing. Good to get some piece of mind though.
Back to Sanur and the Mona Lisa again for dinner. Beautiful lumpia, satays and green curry chicken. This maybe the only time in Bali I may be happy to use a porter at the airport.
See what the next few days brings.
