I am with Telstra so will refer to Telstra. With roaming you pay to send and also receive calls in Bali so if someone rings you you also pay. Not a cheasp option
With Bali Sims. I have used ProXL and Simpati and now only use simpati. Once you have a Bali sim a text to AUST is about 5 to 10 cents each. Telephone call using the cheap code is a bit hit and miss with delay but super cheap. Calling direct eg 6289XXXXXX is a bit more expensive. It also depends on the time of the day. There website gives different times and rates. A new SIM gives you 50 minutes on the cheap rate included, 10 free SMS, 2gb data but you have to add to the original 5,000 charge.
The website below. Enter then click English will give you more details. Last time 150,000rp gave me internet access, phone calls, and SMS. Almost ran out just before leaving. Other phone only and no internet and about 10 X 5 minute calls lasted 2 weeks with 50,000rp or $5.50
