As we had originally done the Bali Hi and throughly enjoyed it, we wanted to show our 4 Bali Virgins a great time. Could not get onto Bali Hi and settled for Bounty. Bad move....
We were told driver would collect us at between 5:30 and 5:45pm. We left at 5:40pm. Were told that boat went out to Lembognan and returned. We booked on the streets (booth out front of Melasti Beach Resort (street side, not beach side).
We got the 6 tickets a lot cheaper than the advertised price.
Driver was a maniac (there are a number of other word that I would prefer to use but systems admin would delete the post). He told us that the boat left at 6pm and his boss would not be happy if we missed the boat. He used high speed, back street, flashing lights and a lot of balinese words that we luckily did not know but arrived at 6:20 to find that the cruise did not leave till 7. Welcome drinks were provided on arrival then photo on boarding. Photo's are available for purchase on return.
Drinks are very expensive with a binnie twice the price as anywere else at 30,000rp. Spirits are also very expensive and below the normal nip level.
As I dont eat seafood, I was concerned with what I would eat. Plenty of other choices as only seafood served was a few small prawns and a fish curry. I asked hubby for his opinion and he thought the meal was very average, infact below average. You had to get in very quickly as food was not plentiful.
Balinese dancers were great and there was a comedien that includes a magic show. Lots or audience participation. TV and sitting area down stairs for those who do not want to participate.
Top level was head-banging music and the back of the boat, was a trio playing instruments.
Unless Bali Hi has changed dramatically, I would book as soon as you get there for a night later in the week.
As you may guess, we were not impressed with this cruise. Neither were the Bali Virgins.... particularily having to kiss our asses good bye on the drive (flight) to the harbour.
Tip:
* Book on the street as it is cheaper
* remember to take camera as there are some beautiful photo opportunities
* take plenty of rp for drinks as they are not included in Bali Hi or Bounty cruises
* take along a light cardigan or jacket. With the breeze on the harbour, it can get quite cold.
* wear flat shoes and don't bother dressing up.
Hope this helps
