Hey. I was kinda concerned abour going there on the fast boat - all these stories about being so rough, boats crashing etc. Its realy easy and no problems. I booked our tickets from a tour seller in the streets of Kuta. It cost 600,000 Rp return on a fast boat to Gili T - the company was Waihuna. We got picked up from our hotel in Kuta at about 6.30 a.m., bused to Palangai bay, onto a modern comfortable fast boat, couple of hours later - by about 11 a.m., we were on Gili T. heap of locals meet the boat to sell all different standards of accomdation. We ended up just going to the Beach House Resort (found when googling the island). We were lucky and got the last room which was just a standard room (550,000 Rp for twin room including breakfast and tax). Can highly recommend it. has a nice pool, lots of options for rooms, BBQ seafood restaurant right on the water out front. Walking distance from the boat arrivals - the horse and carts will try to rip you off. You can rent a bike from the convenience store next door for 30,000 RP a day for a ride around the island. When leaving just walk back to the boat port, check in at the shop... catch the boat back and they then bus you to your hotel of choice back in Bali. Boat ride was a little rough - more so on the way back, but no-one was sick or anything. Lots of kids on board. All in all was a really nice side trip for a couple of days from the hustle and bustle of Bali. Dont let all the horror stories put you off.. was a really easy trip and I'd happily do it again and take the kids next time too.
