The logical route would be through the mountains to the north coast of Bali. There are two routes that you can use, one is called the green road (through many rice terraces) and on this route I would suggest Sanda Villas near Pupuan, the other route is through Bedugal and there are several lakes here and numerous places to stay. With children I think this would be the best idea as the eastern route from Ubud to Candi dasa and around the coast from Amed is a long journey. We have stayed in Pemuteran on five occasions and have enjoyed our visits, especially our last visit with family when we stayed in a beautiful villa, very relaxing and restful. Have a wonderful time.
