my recent trip to bali sort of hit home in a big way Ive been going to bali since 1972 and the changes came slowly but the last couple years the changes, buildings, traffic, pollution etc. was overwhelming.I walked back from Kuta one night with a few ladies and came across the monster construction opposite Kuta Beach I have to say it brought me to tears where has bali gone? Then to ubud that loverly laid back town where you felt totally at rest and laid back - well no more its full of new cafes(trendy style),shops, traffic etc. it dosnt feel like the bali we knew!I know people will say its normal progression but I think its sad to see bali lose its traditions, its land, its cultures etc. etc.!Its all geared for tourists to much construction to many bars,to much traffic(huge highways to be built)and huge public buses???My husbands a surfer he has loved bali and its uncrowded surfs its not that way anymore resorts are buying up the beachfront land, restaurants with music on beachfronts??I miss Bali?
