If you stay at Umalas you will need transport to get you everywhere so you would be advised to try to find a villa that offers a shuttle service, or better still, a car for the duration of your stay. I believe from when we were looking in the area Seroja offered this. Remember Flipkey and VRBO - these sites are private villas and the owners offer some great deals.
