Had same kind of problem with the links, all browsers like chrome,opera and the browsers on my android machines work well with cloured links. On my main win7 laptop in IE9 all links on balitravelforum are blue (read AND unread links) and the last selected link is red.
Fixed it by cleaning the browserhistory, now my visited links are green, non-visited are blue and the last selected is red.
Be sure however to wipe out only the visited pages history and not all info (passwords, cookies etc)
