Day 10 - Off to Geneva to pick up a few things - same old stuff - back to Mozarella for one more Mie Goreng. Hang around hotel - sad...
Day 11 - off to the Novotel - we have a beach bungalow which looks cute- sorry guys but we are not impressed with this hotel, it is hugely expensive, the toilet and sinks were cracked and, we discover, the sheets have not been changed, plus we can hear the guy next door snoring- whats going on there?
The area is nice and peaceful, the beach is flat but weedy and there is hardly any guests here who speak English. There are a couple of restaurants across the road but hardly any shops. Lunch is a sandwich 90K, margharita (terrible) 90K, bintang 35K.
Cardamon for dinner, quite nice, seafood soup delicious, crispy duck, crispy duck salad and beef 3 ways , 1 cocktail, 1 large and 1 small bintank 376K.
Day 12 - We have booked a driver for the day - a friend of a friend, Bene 400k. Still suffering with belly problems Bene stops to get us some Guava juice, he tells us to drink one every 2 hours till we are better - OMG it works, we feel much better!
We head off to Nusa Dua to Starbucks for brekky - nice, then to Padang Padang for a swim, beautiful then Blue Point for lunch.
Blue Point is divine, we have hamburgers at the café. 2 beef burgers, 1 chicken burger, 2 bintangs and a mango juice 288K. We walk and walk and walk down a small winding stairway to swim in a big rockpool - amazing, beautiful, fresh. Continue to Uluwatu temple - yeah, nice, with monkies 20K entry.
Dinner at Nelayan - good - chicken satay, fried calamari, prawns in sweet soy, beef and blackbean, 1 cocktail, 2 bintangs, 1 lemonade 310K.
Day 13 - last day - we leave tonight.
Nyoman, a cousin of Bene's picks us up early, we want out of here and back to Legian. He takes us to the Suriwathi hotel in Garlic Lane.
What a surprise, rooms from 350K to 550K, pool very clean and nice, all hidden away behind Billy's Bar. This is a great place to be based for the day - we have the Deluxe room 550K as it is a bit roomier and has a separate shower.
Dump bags, Coffee Corner for a divine coffee each, focacia and BLT 152K, well worth it.
Nails need a touch up, Pips for polish only 25K.
Jimmy's for a few more DVD's then taxi to Koori for lunch (it was on the list). The chilli crab is unbelievable delish, thai beef salad, hamburger, hamburger, lemon squash, bintang 365K. Really, really recommend this gorgeous place down Poppies 2.
Back to hotel, flop around the pool, very, very late dinner at Sheppy's, more of those divine margharita's - frozen and not, wander along beach road, cut through Padma for last time
- aaaaaaahhhhhh - good bye Bali.
