If you go to an apotik just say kutu - that is what they are called there. If you don't want to trust medications you are not sure about, then another home remedy is to coat the hair well with mayonnaise-liberally - and wait half an hour or so before combing it out with fine comb (you should be able to get one of those at an apotik or medicine counter in supermarket. Then wash hair. It works because the vinegar (mild acid) weakens the glue of the egg casing on the hair shaft, and the oil deprives the adult bugs of oxygen, so they die.
