Just 4 days taking first timer sister-in-law and boyfriends family to show them the ropes and ensure they have a great trip. Flight over with garuda fin ebut 2 of our TVs did not work. Lucky we could share 2 between 4 over teh 6 hrs of flying time. JetStar back but wish they let u buy the cheap duty free alchohol at DPS airport!!! Just don't understand that one at all.
I had everyone booked into KP but most jumped ship due to news of construction noise. Well the noise was just a bit of banging into the early evening at the most (but sometimes not even that) and then all quiet. I wish we had just kept all our bookings (even though I kept my A block bookings)
It was such a shame that we moved them (to the Puri Raja which was nice) as it made the 4 days I was there so much more difficult because they were at a different hotel and global roaming had not been put on their phones and the Bali sim cards were a bit hit and miss - and so was the gumby use of the old mobiles when everyone is so used to phnoes now!
The rate dropped to 9200 and I did feel that there had been a rise in prices since last Novemner and airport pickup was 150k with everyone I tried through recommendations on the BTF - ended up going with Ary who was great and he got lots of extra work through us but I didn't haggle as it is a bit uncomfortable when you are already in the car with the ice cold water and discussing tomorrow and entrusting him with the surfer boys who have no idea where they are going and trusting that he won't unleash them onto some professionals only reef break! Anyway he was excellent and always extremely early.
I actually think the best meal we had was lunch at the Celcius place in teh Discovery centre but we also enjoyed Ours and the Corner in Padma Utara.
Briella Spa was good as usual and conveniently placed to KP but I would like to have used Santai again as well.
