So sad to have to say goodbye. Still holding out for a jet* delay... Found my chilli crab at Benno's cafe on the beach front....70k and was awesome! I even polished off Miss 15 3/4 as she had given up too soon on the effort of the shell cracking. Husband had a double dinner with an extra dish of pork salad... He could not shut up about it.
Cloudy today. Not a drop though and stil nice and hot. We had a buffet breakky at a hotel on the beach front. Can't remember the name but was a sufficient meal with eggs cooked to our liking and at 50K each as opposed the the same for 150K at our hotel it was well worth getting up and going a bit earlier.
I cannot express how quiet it is here. I know Sanur is fairly quiet compared to the manick kuta / legian area but this is eerily so. I swear I can hear the desperation for business in the locals voices. Rate is up compared to our last visit but no one is spending. To be honest I have not spent a lot this time compared to last trips, but for 5 days and purposely wanting to stay at the hotel and lay by the pool for extremely desperately needed r and r after a nightmarish 6 months in my job it is no wonder. I do feel guilty that I have not done any shopping at all, but my exhausted mental state just cannot justify the low energy reserves to negotiate prices. My kids have made up for it eit jewellery and dvds etc. I have over tipped and not bartered prices for any purchases I have made, so this will have to do for this trip. But wait til next June my local buddies.... I will have 10 days of girly shopping and twice daily massages with no kids to entertain. Cannot wait to be able to get the leather boots made and bags made, plus a whole new set of suits made for work!
This is my/our fifth trip to Bali and absolutely love every time we come.
Off to Jimmy's so hubby can get his afl fix and watch his beloved crows while I take my 2 offspring for a Japanese lunch up the road.
