Kopi Luwak is coffee beans that have passed through the digestive tract of the palm civet. The beans are collected, CLEANED and roasted.
However, from AQIS site, you must obtain a permit to import Kopi Luwak to Australia.
"1. An import permit is required for roasted coffee beans that have been partially digested through the alimentary tract of animals (e.g. Kopi Luwak/Civet coffee). Permit applications must be sent to AQIS Canberra office for assessment. The permit must be valid at the time the goods are imported into Australia.
Note: If you wish to import Kopi Luwak/Civet Coffee you will need to provide manufacturing details to support the application. Manufacturers may not provide these documents to non-commercial importers. Before applying for an import permit you should check whether the manufacture is willing to provide AQIS with these details.
